We hope that you have had a wonderful stay in Regensburg and that your research, teaching or doctoral work at the UR as been successful!

Before leaving, please take care of the following steps:

? Use the alumni network of the University of Regensburg for this purpose

Before Departure

1. Housing Cancellation

Some contracts have a longer cancellation period. It is therefore important to inform yourself in good time so that you can cancel all contracts before you leave. As a rule, accommodation must be cancelled three months before moving out.

2. Deregistration with the City of Regensburg

You must deregister with the City of Regensburg before your departure. For further information on registration, moving and deregistration click here!

3. Deregistration with the Broadcasting Fee

To avoid unnecessary fees, you must also deregister from the Broadcasting Fee. For more information about the Broadcasting Fee, click here.

Other Important cancellations/deregistrations:

  • Cancelling your bank account (please note: for example, bank accounts at Sparkasse must be cancelled in person at a local branch)
  • Cancel club memberships (gym etc.)
  • Give back your Mensa card
  • Return your keys
  • If you were here with children: Deregister your children from kindergarten/school
  • If you were enrolled: save all documents from SPUR in your computer
