Trainees at the University of Regensburg are responsible for their own insurance cover. You should therefore look into the topic of insurance well in advance of your traineeship and ask your traineeship supervisor which insurances are useful or necessary for your traineeship.
Health insurance and accident insurance
As trainees are enrolled at the University of Regensburg, you must have sufficient health insurance for the entire duration of your traineeship. This is required by law and is a requirement for enrolment. A German statutory health insurance company must check your proof of insurance and forward your insurance status to the Registrar's Office of the University of Regensburg.
Please read the information on health insurance on our website for exchange students carefully and contact the International Office if you have any questions.
By enrolling at the University of Regensburg, interns are covered by accident insurance. Further information on the scope of accident insurance can be found on the website of the Registrar' s Office Regensburg.
Liability insurance
Trainees do not receive liability insurance from the University of Regensburg. You must therefore ensure that you have sufficient insurance cover yourself.
Laboratory insurance
A laboratory insurance may be useful or necessary for trainees who work in a laboratory as part of their traineeship. Please enquire with your traineeship supervisor in good time before starting your traineeship.
