Living in Regensburg
Living in the World Cultural Heritage
The University of Regensburg is a modern campus university. Founded in 1962, it now comprises 12 faculties and over 350 professors. Currently, around 20,000 students study here. Among the staff are numerous international visiting scholars and visiting professors who conduct research and teach at the UR.
The university's appeal is based not least on the city of Regensburg with its long history and UNESCO World Heritage status (since 2006). The historic old town has a unique character, with historic buildings such as St. Peter's Cathedral and the Stone Bridge at its centre.
For students and visiting scholars, Regensburg also offers an above-average cultural scene, as well as a large number of restaurants, bars and beautiful squares. The historic old town offers a wide variety of opportunities in a uniquely beautiful setting.
