Application
University entrance qualification (higher education entrance qualification/HZB)
International applicants require a so-called "direct HZB" to be able to study in Germany. They often acquire this authorisation with a secondary school degree, which qualifies them to study in their home country. In other cases, a school-leaving certificate is not sufficient and applicants must provide proof of one to two additional years of study at a university in their home country.
Studienkolleg or direct HZB?
Studienkolleg

Studienkolleg
International applicants without direct University Entrance Qualification (because their previous degree and academic achievements are not considered equivalent to the German Abitur) can prepare specifically for their degree program at the Studienkolleg. The Studienkolleg program can only be taken up after passing the entrance examination. Places are limited and highly requested. Applicants must acquire the necessary level of German (B2) on their own, there are not German courses at the University of Regensburg for this case.
The Studienkolleg München is responsible for all universities in Bavaria. Nevertheless, you must apply via the university at which you wish to study.
Please find out which requirements for a university entrance qualification are right for you. Information on this can be obtained from the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the federal states as well as from the DAAD.

The UR will review your application as soon as possible. The official notification is available as a pdf file in the Campusportal. If you are admitted, you will find all information on the necessary next steps explained in the letter of admission (acceptance of place, semester fee, enrolment).
