  • § Section 2 (4): "The universities shall contribute to the social promotion of students; (...) They shall ensure that disabled students are not disadvantaged in their studies and can take advantage of the university's programmes without outside help as far as possible."

  • Article 24, paragraph 1: "The universities shall promote (...) the actual realisation of the equal participation of people with disabilities or chronic illness in university life (...). They shall work towards the elimination of existing disadvantages and ensure that the offers of the university can be used as far as possible without outside help."

Bavarian Higher Education Admission Act (BayHZG)

  • Article 5 (Local Selection Procedure), paragraph 3, sentence 1: "The following percentages of the available study places shall be deducted in advance from the admission numbers set (advance quotas): 2 per cent for applicants for whom the rejection of the application for admission would mean exceptional hardship."   • Article 5, paragraph 4, sentence 1: "The study places remaining after deduction of the study places in accordance with paragraph 3 shall be allocated as follows:
  1. 25 per cent according to the average grade of the higher education entrance qualification
  2. 65 per cent according to the result of the supplementary university selection procedure and
  3. 10 per cent according to the length of time since acquiring the qualification for the chosen degree programme (waiting period)" (...)
  • Article 5, paragraph 4, sentence 4: "Anyone who claims to have been prevented from achieving a better value for consideration in the selection process in accordance with sentence 1, numbers 1 to 3 due to circumstances for which he or she is not responsible shall participate in the allocation of study places with the value that he or she can prove." § Section 70 Representatives pursuant to Art. 24 BayHIG
(1) The representatives for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses at the University of Regensburg pursuant to Art. 24 BayHIG shall be known as the Representative for Students with Disabilities or Chronic Illnesses. The Senate shall elect this person from among the full-time employees of the University at the suggestion of the President, as well as at least one deputy. The representatives shall be appointed for an indefinite period; the appointment may be revoked by the Senate.
(2) The task of the representative for the interests of students with disabilities or chronic illnesses is to counteract discrimination against students during their studies. The representatives shall support the university management in its task of taking into account the special needs of students with disabilities or chronic illnesses when organising study conditions. He or she advises students with disabilities or chronic illnesses and the faculties on any problems that arise and submits a report on the situation of students with disabilities or chronic illnesses to the Senate once per academic year. He or she must be involved in good time by the responsible faculty in the event of changes and new versions of examination and study regulations.
(3) In order to fulfil these tasks, the representatives shall be appropriately relieved of their other official duties.
