Awareness means paying attention, being conscious of your surroundings and the people around you, and being willing to take responsibility for non-discriminatory coexistence. At an event or party, awareness means making an effort to provide those present with a space where discriminatory behavior is actively countered if necessary and where those affected can find support.
At UR, a joint project with student initiatives has developed an awareness concept, various codes of conduct depending on the type of event, and a support structure to provide event organizers with a basis for their awareness work. The files are deliberately in an editable format, as adjustments may be necessary or useful depending on the group.
