The next awarding procedure for Deutschlandstipendien at the University of Regensburg will take place in the winter semester 2025/26 for the funding period summer semester 2026 and winter semester 2026/27.

The Deutschlandstipendium at the University of Regensburg

The Deutschlandstipendium for students of all degree programmes are currently awarded once a year. The call for applications and the selection process take place in the winter semester. The scholarships are awarded at the beginning of the summer semester.

The awarding of scholarships is subject to the availability of funds.

Applications that are not submitted on time and in the correct form will not be considered in the selection procedure.
 

The scholarship

  • The amount of the scholarship is 300.00 Eur per month.
  • Scholarships are initially awarded for one year, but only within the standard period of study.
  • It is possible to take into account an extended individual standard period of study due to the epidemic.
  • Family allowances or allowances for material costs are not granted.
  • The funding is independent of other income or the income of parents.
  • The scholarship is granted irrespective of the receipt of BAf?G.
  • Scholarships can also be awarded for specific subjects.

Requirements

  • You are enrolled on a degree programme at the University of Regensburg.
    Exception: Students on doctoral programmes are not eligible for funding.
  • You are studying within the standard period of study.

If you are about to start a degree programme at the University of Regensburg, you can take part in the selection procedure. However, you can only be funded if you actually take up this degree programme.

Selection criteria

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of talent and performance.

In addition to previous achievements and personal career to date, other criteria should be taken into account, such as society commitment, willingness to take on responsibility, or special social, family, or personal circumstances resulting, for example, from family origin or a migrant background.

The online form gives you the opportunity to select the criteria that suit you and provide more detailed information. Please note that all your details must be documented.

Evidence 


The documents of professional commitment should show

  • what achievement or activity you have accomplished,
  • when you received the recognition or the period in which you pursued the activity and
  • which institution issued the document.


The documents for extracurricular commitment should show

  • what service or activity you have provided,
  • the amount of time you spent on it (hours per week over months or years) and
  • which institution issued the document.


If special personal or family circumstances such as illnesses and disabilities, the care of your own children or close relatives in need of care, a migration background and other special features of your biography represent a significant challenge for your educational path, you can also provide information on this.

You can use medical reports, birth certificates of your children, evidence of your work in caring for relatives, official documents and letters of reference from the psychosocial counselling service of the Studierendenwerk, church university communities or similarly recognised institutions as supporting documents. - Please do not request certificates from the faculties.

We provide you with an updated online application form for each application procedure. In it, we ask you to provide the necessary information about yourself, your course of study and your academic and extracurricular commitments as part of the selection procedure.

You will receive detailed information on the required documents specifically for the respective selection procedure together with the online form. Changes are to be expected.
 

Required file attachments for applications in the winter semester 2025/26
 

  1. Valid "Studiennachweis" for your degree programme at the University of Regensburg
    (not "Immatrikulationsbescheinigung")
  2. Certificate of higher education entrance qualification, e.g. Abitur certificate
  3. Proof of previous academic achievements
    if you have already achieved credits in your degree programme
  4. If applicable, proof of previous university degrees, e.g. Bachelor's degree
  5. If applicable, proof of academic commitment
  6. If applicable, evidence of extracurricular activities
  7. If applicable, evidence of special features of your biography that affect your studies
    (e.g. studying with a child, health impairments, refugee background)
  8. If applicable, current BAf?G approval notice

You can upload the above documents digitally in the online application form.
Please summarise all documents for each item in one file.

From this round onwards, you can enter your CV and letter of motivation directly in the fields provided in the form. You therefore no longer need any attachments for these.
