The Master's degree programme is an advanced course of study lasting approximately two to four semesters. Requirements for admission to a Master's degree programme are a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent first professionally qualifying degree.
As with the Bachelor's degree programmes, a distinction is made between Master of Arts (M.A.) programmes in the humanities and Master of Science (M.Sc.) programmes in the natural sciences or economics. Since the 2010/11 winter semester, the University of Regensburg has also been offering the Magister theologiae (M.Theol.) in catholic theology.
Admission requirement
It is also possible to study after a period of employment. The aim is generally the ability to work independently in an academic capacity. This also includes the ability to carry out interdisciplinary and practice-oriented academic work.
Which degree programmes or Bachelor's degrees are recognised as admission requirements for the respective Master's degree programme is governed by the relevant Examination Regulations.
