Commission of IT users

The university management appoints a commission of IT users for IT matters in accordance with Art. 20 Para. 2 Sentence 1 Bavarian Higher Education Act and § 30 Para. 2 GrO.

Tasks

The Commission of IT Users advises and formulates opinions on matters of general or fundamental importance to IT. The Commission has the following tasks in particular: It

  1. serves as a link between users and IT, i.e. it formulates the needs of users as requirements for IT and makes recommendations regarding the strategy of the university's IT systems;
  2. evaluates and comments on new concepts and solutions from the IT projects;
  3. participates in the appointment of the head of the Computer Center in accordance with § 6 para. 1 and prepares a recommendation;
  4. approves the Computer Center's applications for study grant funds.

Members

The members of the Commission of IT Users compile concerns and feedback from their faculties and status groups regarding the work of IT service providers. They report on the work of IT service providers to their faculties and status groups.

The term of office of the elected members is six semesters; in deviation from this, the term of office of the student representative is two semesters. Reappointment is possible.

Consultative voices

The heads of the IT service providers are regularly involved in the meetings in an advisory capacity. Other persons such as employees of the IT service providers or the faculties as well as the Data Protection Officer, the IT Security Manager, the Commercial Director of the UKR and the Academic Director of the Computer Center of the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg can be consulted in an advisory capacity on a case-by-case basis.
