Grade calculation
The grades from the biology examinations are weighted twice, the grades from the biochemistry, chemistry, physics and mathematics examinations are weighted once. The grade for the bachelor's thesis is weighted fourfold.
Example for calculating the overall grade according to the examination regulations from May 2016 and module catalogue valid for first-year students from WS 16/17 - see pdf! (opens in a new window). (This PDF is not accessible)
Examination deadlines
Examination regulations BSc Biology § 23: As a rule, the Bachelor's degree programme should be completed by the end of the sixth semester. If the outstanding achievements for the successful completion of the Bachelor's examination cannot be demonstrated by the end of the eighth semester, the Bachelor's examination is deemed to have been taken and failed for the first time. If the outstanding achievements cannot be demonstrated by the end of the ninth semester, the Bachelor's examination is deemed to have been definitively failed.
Corona regulation
Due to the pandemic-related regulations on examinations in the Bavarian Higher Education Act (Bavarian Higher Education Act), SS 20, WS 20/21, SS 21 and WS 21/22 do not count as examination semesters with regard to deadlines. The examination semester is decisive for the examination deadline, not the subject semester.
