Susanne Leist is Professor of Management Information Systems and vice-president for digitalisation, networks and transfer at the University of Regensburg. She has held various editorial and management positions in research and teaching, some of which she continues to fulfil.
Her research focuses on process and quality management. At the centre of this is the investigation of the influence of new technologies (e.g. social media, digital agents) on processes and value creation, with a particular focus on companies in the digital economy. In addition to publicly funded research projects (ESF, Federal Ministry of Education and Research), it has carried out extensive projects with industrial partners - particularly in the digital economy - and implemented numerous practice-oriented research projects (primarily with companies in the automotive, financial services and energy sectors). In cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bavaria, she also developed algorithms for analysing customer comments in social media to support quality management.
She has teaching experience at various universities in several countries, including Australia, Ethiopia, Germany, Italy, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Switzerland.
