Project seminar topics are assigned centrally by a computerised distribution system.
The complete range of topics offered by all chairs of the department can be viewed in the distribution system at the end of the previous semester.
Students' stated preferences are taken into account when assigning students to topics.
The procedure takes place in three stages
1. Phase:
In the first phase, students must register for participation at the project seminar via: https://winf-service.uni-regensburg.de/ (external link, opens in a new window)
2. Phase:
In the second phase, students can select the topics and form groups. After the second phase, places are assigned to the individual project seminar topics.
3. Phase:
In the third phase, students can view the topic they have received or choose a topic that is still available. An exchange of topics with an agreed partner can only take place via the responsible mentors of the chair.
Contents of the module:
The project seminar represents a step towards academic independence. A topic in Business Informatics specified by the mentor is to be worked on in writing in a team using the methods learnt during the course, including programming. The seminar paper is also an initial preparation for the B.Sc. thesis (see below).
Qualification goals of the module:
On degree of this module, students will be able to analyse a challenging topic in Business Informatics and also to set it out in writing in a convincing and understandable way for third parties. The described independent and methodical processing of a topic in Business Informatics builds on the learning outcomes of the B.Sc. programme.
