Gabriele Taschetti studied musicology at the University of Padua, where he obtained his Ph.D. in June 2023 with a dissertation on the motet anthology Symbolae diversorum musicorum (Venice, 1621). He is involved in the edition of the complete works of Tomaso Cecchini and Giovanni Battista Riccio (member of the scientific committee). Taschetti's academic portfolio encompasses publications on musical patronage, contrafacta, incomplete music, historical inventories of musical editions, sixteenth-century madrigals, Giuseppe Tartini, and digital tools for music analysis.
He has contributed to projects including ITMI (Indici della Trattatistica Musicale Italiana) and CRIM (Citations: the Renaissance Imitation Mass). He conducted seminars at the Haute ?cole de Musique in Geneva (2021) and the Pontifical Ambrosian Institute of Sacred Music in Milan (2023).
Currently, he is conducting the DAAD-funded project "Incomplete musical treasures at the Bisch?fliche Zentralbibliothek in Regensburg," hosted by the University of Regensburg. Taschetti also holds a composition diploma, and some of his works received international recognition (ICCC Japan 2019).
