Current

Dear interested parties,

Our Chair, including the planned Psychotherapeutic University Outpatient Clinic for Clinical Neuropsychology, is currently in the development phase. We will try to keep you up to date with occasional news.

August 2025– DFG Project Grant Approved! Open Positions!

We are excited to announce that the German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved our follow-up grant proposal on affordance-based decision-making.

Our research explores how people make appropriate judgments about whether an action is possible — for example, whether a cup is within reach or a street can be crossed safely. We’re particularly interested in how these processes change with aging or following neurological conditions, such as stroke.
We're also exploring the use of Virtual Reality as a tool to measure and possibly train these decision-making abilities.

As part of this project, we are offering two PhD positions:

July 2025 – Summa Cum Laude for Sarah Stoll

We’re celebrating our team member Sarah Stoll, who successfully defended her PhD thesis on July 11th. Her dissertation focused on the fundamental topic of movement selection, and among other findings, she reported results on how psychosocial stress affects movement selection.

May 2025 - Materials for psychotherapy in chronic fatigue published

As part of her doctoral thesis at the University of Konstanz, MSc. Melanie Tempfli, together with Prof. Jennifer Randerath, published a paper in the Journal of Contemporary Psychotherapy entitled: The Concept of Active and Protective Coping for Individual Psychotherapy in Chronic Fatigue: An Example from Post COVID.

In this context, the authors provide German and English materials for psychotherapy for download.

April 2025 - The therapy team is in the starting blocks

Dietlind Harisch and Birgit Becker each take on the role of deputy therapeutic director on a part-time basis. This means that two experienced psychotherapists with specializations in Clinical Neuropsychology are joining our team. We hope that our University Outpatient Clinic at the University of Regensburg will make a significant contribution to local outpatient neuropsychological care and to the training of urgently needed junior staff in this field.

03/01/2025 - We are pleased about team reinforcement at the UR

Jan Knaak (MSc Psychology, University of Vienna) joins our team as a Scientist Practitioner in teaching and research. Among other things, he will focus on which brain regions are essential for self-perception after stroke, especially when everyday activities are impaired.

01/01/2025 - We wish everyone a happy new year and welcome Sarah Stoll to our team at the UR.

Sarah Stoll is taking part in the psychotherapeutic training with additional specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology parallel to her scientific work. She is currently completing her doctorate at the University of Konstanz and will strengthen our team as a Scientist Practitioner in teaching and research. We are delighted that we have been able to recruit this young scientist for the Regensburg site.
