Teaching Qualification: Gymnasium -?only as extension subject
Gymnasium teaching degree: Two teaching subjects are combined. In addition, the course of study is supplemented by the study of educational science. This results in the following combination of subjects:

The University of Regensburg is the only university in Bavaria to offer teacher education for Czech for the school type "Gymnasium" as an additional subject for teaching certification.
In addition to the language courses (target reference level C1 by CEFR), the program offers specific specialized courses on Czech linguistics, literature and cultural studies as well as on the particular didactics of teaching Czech as a foreign language.
Czech, the only foreign language to be spoken in a country neighboring Bavaria, is taught in various types of Bavarian schools and institutions. Students gain competency in organizing Czech language programs and teaching Czech. They are able to approach and solve specific issues in teaching Czech as a foreign language in a problem-solving manner. The program also provides students with interdisciplinary regional and linguistic skills.?

In the winter and summer semester
All students must have an interest in Czech culture, literature and language (Czech comptency at level B1 is a prerequisite).
Applicants need knowledge of Czech at the CEFR-level B1. Teaching certification in Czech for the school type "Gymnasium" may only be studied as an additional subject in a program of teacher education.
