The Chair of Prof. Dr. Eva Helene Odzuck conducts basic research in political philosophy, theory, and the history of ideas, as well as the theory of science in political science.

A particular focus is on exploring the theoretical foundations, normative values, and goals of liberal democracy - in an age significantly shaped by modern technologies: The Chair also stands for a political theory that brings together historical, analytical, and normative expertise in an application-oriented way. It works with interdisciplinary partners to make visible the challenges and design options of democracy (e.g., in bio- and digital technology, ecological transformation) and to contribute to an informed and civil public debate on the present and future of liberal democracy.
