Proof of a school or university degree
Abitur certificate (obtained in Germany), if
- the degree was obtained no more than 5 years ago,
- at least B2 is shown on the certificate,
- or English was taken as a 1st or 2nd foreign language at least up to grade 12 and at least 5 points were achieved.
Certificate of subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification from a public or state-recognised technical secondary school or vocational secondary school, if
- the certificate was issued no more than 5 years ago,
- at least the grade "sufficient" was achieved in the subject English.
School-leaving certificate in an English-speaking country (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, UK, USA); final certificate as proof.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in English; informal proof from the university that the course was taught in English.
Bachelor's thesis was written in English; informal confirmation from the supervisor of the thesis; students at the University of Regensburg do not require confirmation from the supervisor.
Proof of an English test (not older than 2 years)
- Versant English Placement Test (VEPT). The test is offered by the University of Regensburg and costs €20 for students enrolled at the University of Regensburg and €30 for non-matriculated students (as of SS 22)
- Cambridge ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), FCE (First Certificate in English) Grade A; information on the test at www.cambridgeenglish.org
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with at least 79 points; information on the test at www.ets.org/toefl (TOEFL code number of the UR = 0401)
- IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with at least level 6.5; information on the test at www.ielts.org.
- DAAD language certificate issued by a Language Center at a university; B2 in all three language skills required.
