Lorenza Manfredi

Research assistant
at the Professorship for Sociological Dimensions of Space (Prof. Dr. Anna Steigemann)

Lorenza Manfredi joined DIMAS as part of Prof. Anna Steigemann’s team, working as a researcher for Fairville, a Horizon Europe project that brings together eight labs testing urban co-production in diverse locations across Europe and Africa. Experimentation with new alliances, conflict management, and productive interaction among diverse actors in urban spaces has been central to Lorenza’s work in recent years. In 2022, she completed her PhD in Urbanism between TU Berlin and IUAV Venice, focusing on the disruptions created by autonomous spaces in contemporary neoliberal Berlin. In the following years, she collaborated with urbanes.land and Hochschule Biberach, activating cooperative processes through spaces for encounter, exchange, and production in both urban and rural settings in Germany and Italy. She has experience in experimental teaching, the management of shared spaces, and the coordination of cultural and artistic programs. Her writings have been published in journals and edited volumes by Springer, Jovis, Transcript, Quodlibet, and others.
