Training in dentistry for all those who started their studies before 01.10.2021 is carried out in accordance with the Licensing Regulations?for Dentists, dated 26.01.1955, last amended on 30.09.2020.
The programme is divided into a pre-clinical and a clinical part of five semesters each. After a minimum study period of two semesters, students can take the Preclinical Examination (Naturwissenschaftliche Vorprüfung) and after three further semesters the First Dentistry Examination (Zahn?rztliche Vorprüfung). The clinical part of the programme comprises at least five semesters and is completed with the Dentistry Examination?- State Examination (Zahn?rztliche Prüfung - Staatsexamen).
Training in dentistry in accordance with the?Licensing Regulations for Dentists, dated 08.07.2019, last amended on 22.09.2021, is provided for all those who start their studies?from 01.10.2021 onwards.

The standard period of study to degree is five years and six months.
Students who have not been admitted to the First Dentistry Examination (Zahn?rztliche Vorprüfung) by 10.02.2025 and have not passed the Preclinical Examination (Naturwissenschaftliche Vorprüfung) will continue their studies in accordance with the provisions of the new ordinance.
Students who have passed the Preclinical Examination (Naturwissenschaftliche Vorprüfung) and have not been admitted to the First Dentistry Examination (Zahn?rztliche Vorprüfung) by 10.02.2025 will continue their studies according to the provisions of the new ordinance.
Students who have successfully passed the First Dentistry Examination (Zahn?rztliche Vorprüfung) and have not been admitted to the Dentistry Examination (Zahn?rztliche Prüfung) by 30.03.2028 will continue their studies according to the provisions of the new ordinance.
