The Future of Libraries is open - migration to a new open source library management system

Exciting and challenging weeks are lying ahead of the University Library: after 30 years there will be a switch to a new library management system on 01.07.2025: FOLIO.

Lending stop and service restrictions 23.06. - 30.06.2025

On 01.07.2025 the University Library will switch to FOLIO, a modern open source system to manage all of the library's central processes - from acquiring literature to lending. For some time now, the changeover has been taking place in the background, without you noticing much of it. However, at the end of June this will change for a short time: from 23.06. - 30.06. we will transfer your library account and your lending data. During this time we have to limit our services, in particular the lending service will not be available.

These services remain available without restrictions:

? collection of media items that were ordered before 23.06.

? searching the Regensburg Catalog plus

? access to e-media (textbooks etc.)

? using media on site in the reading rooms

? access to workstations and group workstations

? using carrels in the textbook collection

Service restrictions from 23.06. - 30.06.2025

? no borrowing of media from the reading rooms and the textbook collection

? no orders from the stacks and no inter-library loan requests

? no returns (loan periods are automatically extended by the corresponding period)

? catalog: no access to library account and watch lists (please export your watch lists by 22.06., they will not be transferred to the new library catalog)

? no reservations

? no renewals or applications for library cards

Start of lending with FOLIO on 01.07.2025

From 01.07.2025 we will be back with our lending services and the new library catalog. You will then be able to collect media again, order via the catalog and log in to your library account.
