The FIDS prize for special commitment by young female scientists was awarded for the first time on November 27, 2024. The award winners are
- Dr Tanja Auge (Data Engineering Group),
- Magdalena Glas(Information Systems I Group) and
- Melanie A. Kilian(Information Science Group).

Information on the award winners
All three award winners have represented the mid-level faculty on the faculty board since FIDS was founded.

Dr Tanja Auge is also involved as the 1st deputy women's representative of FIDS and as a board member of the UR Data Hub.

Magdalena Glas was involved in drafting the FIDS doctoral regulations and was a member of several appointment committees.

Melanie Kilian is also involved as a representative for public relations and participated in the development of the new computer scientists and data science degree programs.
Information about the prize
The prize honours outstanding commitment to academic self-administration or teaching that benefits the entire faculty. It is usually awarded once a year. The decision who is awarded the prize is made by a five-member jury consisting of the dean, vice dean, dean of studies, dean of research and the equal opportunities officer for women in science and art at the FIDS. The jury is chaired by the Dean of the FIDS.
