Digitalization leads to an improved availability of data in industrial and service companies. Companies are faced with the challenge of interpreting this data and making forecasts and decisions based on it.
Students are taught quantitative skills from the fields of descriptive, predictive and prescriptive business analytics methods. The students will be familiar with application examples of these methods with regard to the control and design of production systems, supply chains or their interfaces with customers, as well as concepts for quality management in such systems. Upon completion of this module group, students will be able to select, implement and appropriately modify suitable approaches to derive managerial insights and decisions from realistic data sets.
Each module can only be used in one module group. If the core modules Predictive Analytics for Production Systems or Production Networks are taken as part of another module group (e.g. Industrial Management), the module group Business Analytics and Operations Management cannot be taken.
Elective modules partly require the participation in modules that are not part of the module group Business Analytics and Operations Management. The requirements are to be fulfilled here by taking the prerequisite modules within another module group.
