Bachelor Thesis

Our chair offers the possibility to write practice-oriented and -relevant bachelor theses. Within the scope of the theses, the students primarily deal with the application of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms in a financial context. Depending on the topic, the theses focus on descriptive and empirical analyses of real credit and financial market data, the comparison of different qualitative and quantitative approaches, as well as the evaluation and discussion of the investigations.

To work on the topics, students sometimes receive data that is already available at the department and/or obtain it easily from accessible data providers (e.g. Datastream). Empirical analyses are carried out with the help of statistical software (Python, R), for which our department offers introductory courses for the bachelor candidates shortly before the start of the processing period.
