Clinical studies

At the Chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, we have the mandate and it is in our very own interest to implement obstetric research and scientific progress concretely in everyday life. Many pregnancy complications have not yet been researched to the extent that practical therapeutic consequences can be derived from them.

In a large number of scientific projects that accompany our modern daily clinical work, we examine biomaterial such as maternal blood, umbilical cord blood, placenta and the smaller uterine samples in order to track down various complications such as premature birth, pregnancy poisoning or the consequences of caesarean delivery.

For this Purpose, we have integrated in our department an own research team led by Professor Emilia Solano.

You can find more detailed information about our research under Laboratory for Translational Perinatology.
