Project abstract
The research project addresses the field of Educational Science with a specific focus on learning and professional development in vision-intensive professions with the purpose to study (social) learning processes, visual information processing, skill acquisition, knowledge restructuring, and expertise development in the context of training and professional practice in the workplace.

Project abstract
Simulation learning plays an increasingly important role in medicine. In particular, the opportunity to make mistakes without negative consequences in real high-risk situations such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergency medicine is seen as an advantage.
In this project, we investigate how simulation-learning environments can be designed to foster non-technical skills (e.g., communication or task distribution between team members) and technical skills (e.g., chest compression or ventilation) in medical emergencies. Moreover, the project focusses on the transfer of performance from the simulated environment into the real-life setting.

Project abstract
The analysis of social networks is an emerging field in research. It is applied in different professional working contexts (e.g. organizations, politics etc.) in which relations between individuals are part of the daily work life.
Especially, in creative domains and science, where the network is a key factor, it is necessary to investigate how networks are structured and who are supportive actors within the network. The project is focusing on these networks to support relations and interactions between individuals.

Project abstract
The basic objective of the project is to examine variations in perceptional processes and creative ones in visual arts depending on different levels of expertise. In particular, we analyse differentiated spatial perception, skills, and procedures as well as how these develop.
Further aspects are the biography, learning and professional development of artists (e.g. autonomy, public credibility). We are interested in the professional career of artists and the stages that leave an important footprint. Cross-sectional as well as longitudinal approaches are taken. Observations, eye tracking and interviews are used methods in this project.
