Prof. Dr. Jürgen Heinze

Prof. Dr. Jürgen Heinze (retired)
Ants are undoubtedly one of the greatest successes in ecology and evolution. How conflicts associated with group living are resolved, how labor is divided among nestmates, and which genes regulate ageing and reproduction has been focus of research in my team for several decades. Following my retirement in 2024, projects involving social evolution continue both in cooperation with colleagues at UR and worldwide.
