In the warmer months, there is something to experience in the city every weekend: people meet at city festivals, at the Dult or at open-air concerts. The annual festival on campus is a particular highlight of the academic year.

The University of Regensburg is a true campus university, which brings many advantages. All faculties, libraries, cafeterias, and recreational facilities are located in one place. This means short distances and more time for the essentials. Whether you need to quickly get to the next lecture, study in the library, or meet friends in the cafeteria ¨C everything is conveniently within walking distance.
Regensburg scores with its manageable size, which makes everything easily accessible. Whether by bus or bicycle - you can get wherever you want to go in a short time. That saves time and nerves. Whether it's to the university, the old town or the nearest park - the distances are short and convenient.
The good news first: there are no tuition fees or tuition fees at the University of Regensburg. Anyone taking a Bachelor's/Master's degree course or aiming for a state examination does not pay any fees. An exception applies to continuing education masters, which are generally subject to a fee.
Studying is not completely free of charge: students have to pay a semester fee each semester. In summer semester 2025, this fee amounted to a total of 198€. The amount was made up of 116€ for the semester ticket and 82€ basic fee for the Studierendenwerk. Students pay the semester fee when they enrol and each semester when they re-register.
